Dr. Meredith Bailey

Immediate Past President

Meredith Bailey, DMD, MBA, Massachusetts Dental Society Immediate Past President. Dr. Meredith Bailey was always interested in science and medicine, and while attending college in Virginia, she volunteered at the local free clinic. While there, she saw a patient who needed to have all his teeth extracted and replaced with dentures. The care and compassion this patient received at the clinic influenced Dr. Bailey to become a dentist.

Now, a general dentist in Boston and a full-time faculty member at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Bailey has been practicing for 15 years. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Case Western University School of Dental Medicine and an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) certificate from the University of Connecticut. Dr. Bailey recently graduated from the Boston University Questrom School of Business with a master's in business administration (MBA) and a concentration in health sector management.

Serving as American Student Dental Association (ASDA) representative for her class in dental school, Dr. Bailey was introduced to the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) when a friend invited her to a Boston Collaborative Group meeting. This Group was the precursor to the Boston District Dental Society, and attending that meeting was the catalyst for her involvement in organized dentistry at the local, state, and national levels. Dr. Bailey was the first MDS president to serve a two-year term, the fifth woman, and the youngest president from 2021-2023. She is a past chair of the American Dental Association (ADA) Council on Ethics, Bylaws, and Judicial Affairs, and a founding member of the Boston District Dental Society. She was also a key contributor to the MDS and ADA's (ADA) work on the "Yes on 2" campaign for the medical loss ratio ballot initiative, which passed in November 2022, with a landslide victory for patients in the Commonwealth.
