At the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS), grassroots advocacy stems from our members' common interest in both protecting dentists' livelihoods and ensuring patients' access to the best possible care. To meet these goals, the MDS and our members advocate for and against legislation and raise awareness on the issues.
The Massachusetts Dental Society Political Action Committee (MDS-PAC) is an independent, non-partisan, political organization solely dedicated to the advancement of the dental profession.
With your help, the MDS-PAC is able to support candidates for elected office, attend fundraisers, and build relationships with political candidates. This ensures that the best candidates for dentistry are elected. Only the MDS-PAC, not the MDS, is allowed to participate in the election process; the MDS is legally prohibited from using membership dues to support political candidates. That is why your contributions to the MDS-PAC are needed. Without your support, the MDS-PAC cannot work toward protecting the interests of dentistry while ensuring informed decisions are made on Beacon Hill. Support dentistry: Make a voluntary contribution by personal check made out to the MDS-PAC and mail to the Massachusetts Dental Society, Two Willow Street, Suite 200, Southborough, MA 01745.
The Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) often speaks out at public hearings to support or oppose legislation that would have an impact on our profession and dental patients. In addition, the MDS frequently submits written testimony and position statements to various legislative committees and regulatory bodies.
