Massachusetts Dental Society President Statement on Personal Protective Equipment
April 22, 2020 – 2019-2020 Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) President Dr. Janis Moriarty wrote an op-ed piece for State House News Service about the PPE shortages impacting dentistry.
“. . . we have learned that necessary reserves of PPE are being distributed to those on the frontlines, including hospital workers, nursing home employees, and grocery store staff,” Moriarty wrote. “Although we as dentists are deemed essential, we are able to delay some procedures for the sake of our health systems to be able to manage this all-hands-on deck crisis.”
