David Goodman, DMD, Guest Board Member

David Goodman, DMD, MPH, Massachusetts Dental Society Guest Board Member. Dr. Goodman is a 2022 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Returning to his native Massachusetts, Dr. Goodman earned a Master of Public Health in Health Policy from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dentistry has always been personal to Dr. Goodman, as his father is a practicing periodontist. A college internship in the Boston Public Health Commission’s dental division was the catalyst for him following a career in dentistry. His commitment to public health was recognized in dental school when he graduated with honors in vulnerable populations, after volunteering in a clinic that provided free dental care to patients who were abuse survivors, victims of human trafficking, and refugees. 

Dr. Goodman works as a full-time general dentist in Braintree, MA. He first learned about the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) when he connected with the MDS president at a Yankee Dental Congress event. After tracking the MDS’s recent legislative victories, Dr. Goodman’s interest in the Society grew, motivating him to become more involved. “Being a guest board member to the MDS this year presents the perfect timing in my professional development,” he shared. “I am honored to serve in this capacity where I can positively contribute to my profession.”

When not serving patients, Dr. Goodman can be found on the soccer field. He is entering his seventeenth season as a competitive soccer referee. You can also catch him on the field at Gillette Stadium, where he works as a referee liaison officer for Major League Soccer referees at New England Revolution home matches.
