Dr. Laura Glicksman

Laura Glicksman, DMD, Guest Board Member

Laura Glicksman, DMD, Massachusetts Dental Society Guest Board Member. In her more than two decades as an orthodontist, what surprises Dr. Laura Glicksman most about her profession is how much fun it is! “I love the personal connections with my patients and their parents. I also truly enjoy spending my day working with my outstanding team,” she expressed. A self-declared “triple Jumbo (the school mascot)” graduating from Tufts University with her undergraduate, doctorate in medicine of dentistry (DMD), and specialty in orthodontics, Dr. Glicksman was not always interested in a profession related to oral health. In fact, she earned her master’s in biomedical engineering (MS) from Tulane University. She was working toward her Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at Tulane when she realized she wanted to work more directly with patients. Her father, a former MDS president, was a general dentist who loved his profession, which made her decision straightforward.

Dr. Glicksman joins the Massachusetts Dental Society Board of Trustees as a Guest Board Member, but her connection to the MDS goes back to her college years and even her childhood. As a child, she would accompany her father to the MDS’ annual Yankee Dental Congress and collect giveaways on the trade show floor. Keenly aware of the importance of organized dentistry and strong professional relationships, she appreciates what the MDS offers its members on a personal and professional level.

Self-described as adventurous and creative, Dr. Glicksman loves cooking with her husband, walking her dog Tucker, and connecting with family and friends. If given the opportunity, she would spend the day cooking with Chef Ina Garten. “She throws such fun, intimate get-togethers with her friends, has beautiful homes with amazing kitchens, and loves to laugh,” she shared. Dr. Glickman is a huge Jane Austen fan, so on quiet days, you may find her reading Pride and Prejudice or knitting while watching the movie on tv.
