Nik Tasevski, DDS, Massachusetts Dental Society Guest Board Member. From a young age, Nik Tasevski, DDS, knew he wanted to work in healthcare after being inspired by the doctors in his family. In dentistry, he found the perfect fit, combining artistry and surgery to make a profound impact on patients’ lives. Dr. Tasevski graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he learned the importance of patient-centered care after treating medically complex patients, and now practices as a general dentist with a focus on cosmetic and restorative dentistry. “As a dentist, you’re able to get someone out of pain or discomfort, restore their ability to chew and eat, or enhance their smile,” he said. “The results can be immediate—and often life-changing.”

His passion for healthcare extends beyond clinical practice and into research, where he co-authored multiple research papers in high-impact journals and has presented at conferences. His research in neutrophil immunology has been cited by other researchers and helped to find the mechanism connecting periodontal disease with other inflammatory conditions.

Dr. Tasevski was introduced to the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) through the Yankee Dental Congress and MDS social events. Since then, becoming an engaged member has been a priority. “The dental community is only as strong as your contribution, and I knew it was important for me to get involved as much as I can,” he said.

Described by friends as adventurous, curious, and outgoing, Dr. Tasevski spends his free time on the golf course, sampling new restaurants and traveling. His favorite quote, “find the reason why today is the best day ever,” has changed his approach to daily practice. “We have and will inevitably have to face difficulties, and it’s not how we react to those difficulties but how we overcome them and what we learn from them,” he said.
