Kevin Monteiro, MBA, CAE, Massachusetts Dental Society CEO & Executive Director. Mr. Monteiro has been with the organization for more than a decade. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University, Monteiro attended Babson College in Wellesley, MA, to pursue his master’s degree in business administration. He also earned Certified Association Executive credentials through the American Society of Association Executives. When Mr. Monteiro joined the MDS, he was new to the field of oral healthcare. Over the years, he has come to understand and appreciate the hard work that MDS member dentists devote to serving their patients and communities. He is happy to play a small role in helping members with their professional endeavors. In his position as executive director, he leads by the example of his favorite quote, “know what you don’t know.” That is the quality of a good leader. “If you surround yourself with smart people and trust them to do their jobs, the team will flourish. Our dedicated team is driven by the goals of helping MDS members succeed and spreading the message of good oral health to the community,” he shared.
To wind down, Mr. Monteiro spends time with his family, including his two young children, who are learning new things daily. If given the opportunity to switch places with someone for a day, hands down, it would be the director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Seeing behind the scenes what is happening worldwide would be both fascinating and terrifying!
