Ashish Agarwal, DMD, was the first person in his family to complete a higher education degree, graduating from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Inspired by his father, he knew at a young age that he wanted to pursue a career in the healthcare field. He chose dentistry because it was an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients and the profession.
A general dentist with a private practice in Lawrence, MA, Dr. Agarwal learned early on that dentistry encompasses more than clinical care and oral health treatments. “I learned that patients often just want to feel heard and know someone genuinely cares,” he shared. “Dentistry allows me to transform lives—not just by restoring smiles but also by contributing to their overall well-being and confidence.”
Described by friends as loyal and one who is there when it matters, Agarwal tries to follow the mantra of his favorite quote, “live your life by choice, not by chance.” That being said, there is one time he would live by chance. He would never miss the opportunity to trade places with a professional soccer player for a day if given the opportunity. “To feel the thrill of the game and the rush of being on the pitch would be amazing,” he shared. Until that magically happens, Dr. Agarwal will continue to lean into the joy that his patients, practice, and career bring him.
