Every turning point and challenge in her career prompts Arifa Bakerywala, DMD, to reflect on the valuable advice she received when starting her career: “Be persistent—hard work never fails you.” She has consistently followed this mantra throughout her education and career.
A graduate of Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, Bakerywala received her pediatric dentistry certification from Tufts School of Dental Medicine. With a special place in her heart for children, she joined a pediatric dental practice in Quincy, MA, where she continues to practice. The most rewarding aspect of her career is the impact her care has on her patients’ lives. “Parents, especially those of children with special needs, can instantly recognize when you genuinely care. That trust and connection are incredibly fulfilling,” she shared.
While practicing during the COVID pandemic, Bakerywala saw firsthand the value that the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) provides to its members. She is excited to volunteer as an MDS Guest Board member and looks forward to making a meaningful contribution to the future of dentistry.
