Management and prevention of implant complications and materials: from a restorative point of view.
Course description: Implant restorations can present challenges for new and seasoned dentists in practice. From single to full arch restorations, implant prostheses can have unique issues which much be managed by the restorative dentist. Careful treatment planning between the surgical and restorative dentist is integral to reducing complications. Proper diagnosis and communication with the dental laboratory technician are critical in designing and providing treatment. Restorative design and components must be carefully selected to ensure a successful prosthesis.
This lecture will emphasize the necessity for treatment planning of surgical and restorative procedures. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of implant provisionalization, prototypes, and utilization of technology in planning effective restorations.
