April 2026—Emerald Necklace Conservancy

Volunteers will participate in planting and caring for new trees to advance climate resilience, shade equity, and long-term urban forest health. The Emerald Necklace Conservancy covers a 1,100-acre, seven-mile-long linear park system in Boston and Brookline, Massachusetts

May 2026—HOPE Framingham Food Pantry

Volunteers will stock the shopping tables, help families shop, and assist with the pantry clean-up.

June 2026—Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games

Saturday, June 6, 2026, 8:30 am-3:30 pm

Volunteers will provide support for the end-of-year unified track meet. Participants will assist athletes, monitor the start and finish lines, distribute awards, measure field events, and perform other tasks as needed. Be part of the movement that promotes acceptance and inclusion through the power of sport!

Past Events

Greater Boston Food Bank—March 7, 2026

Volunteers packed 300+ food boxes, which were used to make more than 7,500 meals.


Pine Street Inn—February 7, 2026

Volunteers performed a variety of tasks, including peeling and chopping vegetables, seasoning and portioning meats, preparing and packaging meals, and cleaning as needed. Participants received a tour of the shelter at the end of the shift.


Jake’s Toy Mania—December 20, 2025

Volunteers stocked shelves, restocked shopping tables, and assisted families in purchasing holiday gifts at the pop-up store.


Cradles to Crayons—November 1, 2025

Volunteers worked at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory to quality-check, sort, package, and prepare donations for children through the organization’s service partners.


Special Olympics Massachusetts—June 8, 2025

Volunteers assisted at the start and finish lines, distributed awards, supported athletes, measured field events, and performed other tasks as needed. Be part of the movement that promotes acceptance and inclusion through the power of sport!


Greater Boston Food Bank—May 10, 2025

MDS Cares volunteers packed Family Meal Boxes and assisted with food sorting projects, including fresh bread, produce, and retail meat, at the Greater Boston Food Bank.


Broadmoor Sanctuary—April 5, 2025

MDS member volunteers performed trail maintenance or habitat restoration at the Sanctuary.


Women’s Lunch Place—March 15, 2025

MDS Cares volunteers assisted kitchen staff with food preparation, meal service, and cleanup for the Women’s Lunch Place lunch program.


HOPE Framingham Food Bank—February 22, 2025

MDS Cares volunteers helped set up, clean up, restock tables as food was taken, escort families through the line, bag groceries, and bring groceries to cars as needed.
