District Notes and Resources

  • To be in compliance with the MassDEP dental amalgam/mecury recycling program, all dental offices that are subject to this regulation MUST file a form with MassDEP within 60 days (initially) and by June 15 every five years thereafter certifying that all requirements are being met.
  • There is a $460 filing fee that must accompany the certification form every five years. The MDS Dental Practice Committee recommends that you verify that your office is in compliance with this program. And if you missed a June 15 deadline in an earlier year, make sure to address this immediately to avoid any fines.
  • Notice:  If your office is due to renew in 2015, MassDEP has just published a notice that your current certification has been extended for one year.  Your facility's next certification will be due to MassDEP on June 15, 2016, provided that you remain in compliance with the conditions of your current certification.
