Organization and Election
Each council is composed of one member from each District Dental Society. All council members must be Active, Life, or Retired Massachusetts Dental Society members in good standing except as otherwise noted in these Bylaws.

Term and Time Commitment
The office term for council members is three years. Council members may be elected to additional terms. The President appoints committee members to a one-year term. Councils and committees hold between two and five meetings per year, and most are held at MDS headquarters in Southborough.

Chair Appointment
The President appoints the Chair of each council, with all appointments subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees and election by the House of Delegates
