Beacon Hill Day 2013Improving oral health in Massachusetts and protecting the dental profession are not spectator sports. The strength of the Massachusetts Dental Society lies in YOU, our nearly 5,000 members who are on the front lines delivering care every day. Morning Briefing Session
The MDS-PAC & MDS-People’s Committee are pleased to present the third annual Morning Session at Beacon Hill Day. Join us at the Omni Parker House to learn more about the exciting campaigns getting underway here in Massachusetts.

Issue Briefing
Following the Morning Session, the MDS governmental affairs team will explain the Society’s legislative agenda and effective techniques for communicating with legislators. After this briefing you will be prepared to explain the issues facing oral health to your legislators. Here’s what’s topping this year’s agenda:
• Senate Bill 409 & House Bill 323 – if enacted, this bill will prevent dental benefit companies from setting fees for non-covered services.
• MassHealth Adult Dental Benefit – Governor Patrick has recommended cutting the MassHealth adult dental benefit by $56 million. It is critical that legislators maintain full funding in the fiscal year 2013 budget

Interaction With Your Legislators
The Massachusetts Dental Society staff will assist you in scheduling an appointment to meet with legislators in their offices. To schedule your meeting, simply complete the attached registration form, return it to MDS, and someone from our office will contact you to make arrangements. These meetings will ensure that all legislators hear from their local dentists about the importance of oral health.
