Graphic Designer

We are seeking an energetic graphic designer to improve our member experience by bringing our brand to life visually and keeping it consistent across all our various touch points. The Graphic Designer must be a team player capable of building strong relationships with the other members of the team to execute all of the organization’s design needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teammates to create all brochures, journals, presentations, signage, event collateral and any other projects requiring design and layout
  • Help bring new ideas for design and content creation to the team using your expertise and eye for great design.
  • Illustrate concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Review final layouts to make needed suggestions for improvement
  • Relate with external printers or contractors on a regular basis to ensure highest quality and deadline are met
  • Proofread designs for errors before final printing or publishing
  • Perform research for new software or design tools
  • Develop new business idea and contacts
  • Incorporate recommended changes from staff into the final design
  • Develop unique ways to visually communicate ideas to our members
  • Manage demanding schedule to meet tight deadlines for all project

Qualifications:
*All software used is PC Based
  • BS or BA degree
  • 1+ years of experience in graphic design
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid proofing skills
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficient using: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office
  • Proactive, self-motivated, highly organized
  • Flexibility to work well independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm
  • Customer service approach

Membership Engagement Coordinator

The Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) is seeking a dynamic individual who enjoys connecting with people for our Member Engagement Coordinator role. This highly visible position is focused on enhancing the student member experience and supporting the needs of newly licensed dentists.

The membership coordinator is responsible for collaborating with dental school faculty, school administration, volunteer student leaders, and the American Dental Association (ADA) to develop and implement programming that increases the awareness and value of Organized Dentistry.

This position serves as the key communicator for Engagement Activities including: Freshman Orientation, Lunch and Learn Seminars as well as other Student Social Programs.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with volunteer leaders to develop programming and events to promote camaraderie and inclusion among new dentists.
  • Assisting with engagement, recruitment and retention programs/efforts specifically geared to new dentists
  • Applying detailed attention and organization to secure meeting location and speakers, identifying and securing sponsorship funding, ordering food, processing registration payments, preparing handouts and badges for attendees
  • Providing our dental students, potential members and new members with the highest level of customer service

Requirements of position:

  • BA or BS degree
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Initiative and creativity to develop programming
  • Event planning experience
  • Proficient with MS Office, Salesforce experience a plus
  • Ability and willingness for local travel
