Your Story ...
"By taking the time out of my schedule to go to them, I am able to take someone out of pain, or help maintain someone’s teeth in situations where they would often be extracted. Their quality of life is improved more than can be imagined simply because I took a little time out of my schedule and used it to help them." - Dr. Edwin Brookes, Hadley, MA
My years in dentistry have allowed me to give back to the Boston community in a variety of ways. I have adopted several patients in need of advanced dental care through the DASH program ... I truly believe there is nothing better than helping someone to smile with confidence."
. - Dr. Steven D. Spitz, Brookline, MA
“We all KNOW how great it feels to GIVE. Volunteering can be helpful to people who have dental problems. Whether it’s restoring a broken tooth or just giving advice and information you can improve someone’s dental health. I was able to impact people by relieving their pain and directing them to continuing care. What a feeling restoring a teenagers tooth can be when you see that big smile they kept hidden because of that broken tooth. … the simple words “thank you” that come from a person you got out of pain. PRICELESS!"
- Dr. John N. Ducimo, Westborough, MA

Make A Difference Today
The MDS is a strong advocate of volunteerism and encourages its members and others in the health community to share their time and talents with those in the community and abroad. This is one of the first websites devoted to sharing, oral health volunteer opportunities, to those who wish to make a sustainable improvement in oral healthcare.
Participating in a volunteer project opens up tremendous opportunities for new experiences and career enhancements, allows one to appreciate another culture or way of life, and makes a positive contribution to the community in which the project is located.
